What You'll Learn
This comprehensive class explores:
🧡 The Purpose of Walks: Understanding what walks mean for both you and your dog
🧡 Meeting Everyone's Needs: Balancing your dog's needs for enrichment and your need to get from point A to point B
🧡 Why Dogs Pull: The natural behaviors behind pulling and how to work with them
🧡 Positive Communication: Building a "yes"-based relationship rather than relying on corrections
🧡 Reinforcement Strategies: Using both treats and "life rewards" like sniffing opportunities
🧡 Essential Skills: Leash handling, marker mechanics, and helping your dog generalize skills to different environments
Beyond Just Preventing Pulling
Loose leash walking is about so much more than stopping your dog from pulling. It's an opportunity to create a genuine connection with your dog.
Our relationship-centered, positive reinforcement training invites you to build skills and communicate clearly so we can say “yes” to a great variety of behaviors.
Rather than focusing solely on preventing leash tension, we invite you to build a dynamic, joyful conversation with your dog as you explore the world together.
Saying "yes" to desired behaviors is not only more effective—it's more fun! Simply telling your dog "no" provides little useful information. While it might momentarily interrupt unwanted behavior, it doesn't teach your dog what to do instead.
Let us help you develop a communication system that fosters relaxed, positive connection during walks. Transform your daily strolls into meaningful bonding experiences!
