This program is ideal for:

Singleton puppies (raised without littermates)
Puppies that were adopted later in their puppyhood
Puppies that have had persistent health challenges
Puppies that have experienced traumatic injuries or events
Puppies that don't thrive in crowded or active play settings
Important: Not all dogs will benefit from this style of training. If our professional assessment determines that your dog would be better served with a different service, we will provide appropriate recommendations.

This class focuses on foundational skills of focus, confidence, and safety in spaces that are shared with other dogs, not on dog-dog physical play. Some dogs may quickly progress from sharing space to sharing common training activities and then even comfort and skill with short visual and physical greetings of other dogs. These skills support healthy foundations for dog-dog physical play. If there is an opportunity for safe and healthy dog-dog play and a good match between dogs, play interaction will be supported.
Guardians will be expected to be present and sometimes to work with their puppy for the duration of class.
Why is puppy socialization so important?
A young brain has incredible neuroplasticity and therefore puppyhood is the most advantageous time to help them safely learn about the world around them and to help them learn healthy and appropriate ways to react and respond to novel objects and circumstances in their environment. Exposure isn’t enough.
A lack of positive socialization during puppyhood is a leading causes of behavior problems for dogs in adult life.
